What we support . . . 
 

As it continues to grow and develop permanent endowments, the Community Foundation of Chippewa County, Inc. is committed to expanding its ability to support a wide variety of qualified organizations and programs. By so doing the Foundation will fulfill its mission of working to improve the quality of life for all residents in Chippewa County. 
 
In setting priorities for making grants, the Foundation considers the needs of Chippewa County, support from other funding agencies, and its own available resources. Higher priority is given to projects that significantly benefit the residents of Chippewa County and present the potential for a "multiplier effect." 
 
Who may apply . . .
 
· Charitable organizations classified as 501 (c)(3) under the Internal Revenue Code. 
 
· Charitable purposes defined as deductible under 170(b)(1)(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. 
 
What we look for . . .
 

Proposals are considered on the basis of how well they help the Foundation fulfill its mission. Favored are innovative proposals that:
 
· Originated in the area and demonstrate strong volunteer involvement 
 
· Promote collaboration and reduce service duplication 
 
· Strengthen the ability of our communities to respond more effectively to identified needs 
 
· Help people help themselves 
  
· Build upon strengths of communities 
 
· Apply the Foundation's limited resources where they will make a tangible difference in meeting an important community need Have sustainability potential 
 
· Have sustainability potential
 
How to apply . . .
 

Watch for public notices about availability of funds in local media and on the Foundation Web site. Application forms may then be obtained from the Foundation Office. The Executive Director or members of the Grants Committee are available to answer questions from grant seekers. The Grants Committee reviews all applications. The Board of Directors then acts on the recommendations of the Grants Committee in determining grant recipients.
 
What the CFCC does not fund . . .
 

· Routine operating expenses 
 
· Annual campaigns 
 
· Debt retirement 
 
· Lobbying or political campaigns 
 
· Direct support of individuals 
 
· Sectarian causes
